OUTREACH TO SPECIAL COMMUNITIES

We reach several areas rural and urban to help community in need. This is need to be done as we want IIUM to be a caring university ever and the community will acknowledge IIUM as one of the university that always close to the society. Below is the list of the communities that we reach out every year and every semester by different clubs.

COMMUNITIES CLUBS

Muallaf (New muslim brothers & sisters)

The programmes are initiated to close the gape between muslim's born and muallaf. The activities are, Usrah with Muallaf, Motivational camp, visits and collaboration programme with Hidayah Centre.

Disable people

Titian Wahyu is one ond only club that focusing on programmes involving disable people. Some of the members have experience in assisting PERTIS (an organization for blind people) to read al-Qur'an and other books to be translated to Braille. The club also have a school partner in building the character of disable kids such as Sek. Keb. Pendidikan Khas Setapak. The members will become a facilitator to help the teachers in organizing the programmes for the disable kids.

Rohingya Reefugees

Titian Wahyu have their annual programme with Maahad Hashimiah which is a house for Rohingya kids and teenagers. The facilitator will teach the kids how to speak malay, organize a religious class and distribute the donations.

While UMISSION Club is in their project to build a school for Rohingya in collaboration with some NGOs locally and internationally likes IHH, Umission4life and others.

Rural Commmunity at Sabah & Sarawak

MISI Club is the only club that focusing on activities in Sabah & Sarawak. The majority participants are from Sabah or Sarawak and the rest from peninsular of Malaysia. The activities took part in rural areas such as Iban's communities, islands and muslim villages.
