Prof. Dato' Dr Zaleha began her career as assistant lecturer at Law Kulliyyah IIUM in 1985 and subsequently appointed lecturer at the same Kulliyyah in 1988. She a PHd (Law) holder from University of London and was also Dean of Ahmad Ibrahim Law Kulliyyah (Faculty) at IIUM. She held the post of Deputy Dean of Student Affairs Division and Deputy Dean of Research Centre at IIUM.

Born in Raub, Pahang, Zaleha wrote many books, articles, research on law and provides consultancy services to ministries, departments and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
