

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This Certification Program in Protective Security Management is intended to value-add the professional skill-set of security professionals in particular security guards and officers.This program is intended to address security personnel which fit into the following categories.
1)Those without tertiary accreditation or any equivalent diploma or bachelor’s degree.
2)Personnel with working experience in security or closely related sectors.
3)Suitable for non-executives and executives pursuing careers and advancement in Security Management.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this proposal is to offer to prospective students a comprehensive development module on Certificate in Protective Security Management for:
1) Introducing knowledge on protective security principles, best practices and application as security professional.
2) Producing security implementers and knowledge workers to meet Internet-age security challenges.
3) As a prerequisite or entrance requirement to enter into any security-related profession or job in an organization.

Introduction to Information Security and its role to Protective Security Management which includes: CIA triad, cryptography, access control, Intrusion detection system, Infosec Policy, ISMS ISO27001, Cyberlaws & Ethics

Physical Protective Security

The Physical Security aspect of Protective Security which includes security convergence, critical infrastructure protection, physical assets protection, Space security

Security Personnel Management
|
Provide basic understanding of managing the security function, Security management planning, Security intelligence

Digital Forensic
|
This course attempts to cover the introduction to digital evidence and digital forensics investigation. It is expected to provide basic understanding on how digital forensics can assist in investigating crime. Students will be exposed to digital evidence and first responder’s responsibilities in ensuring potential evidence are collected and acquired in accordance to the digital forensics methodology. Various legal and ethics in professional responsibilities will be discussed as well.

Risk Management
|
Information is an important asset to a business. Protecting this asset requires holistic approach and understanding it from different perspectives such as people, process and technology is very important. This course provides the basic yet essential understanding of information security risks. Students will be exposed to important concepts of risk assessment through hands-on exercise and will be guided to identify areas where attention is needed to manage potential risks.
