ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW APPOINTMENT

July 2, 2012– The Centre for Postgraduate Studies is pleased to announce new appointment in its management team:

 PROFESSOR MOHAMED RIDZA BIN WAHIDDIN PhD, DSc

CENTRE FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

PROFESSOR MOHAMED RIDZA BIN WAHIDDIN PhD, DSc, has been appointed as the Dean of Centre for Postgraduate Studies (CPS) effective July 2, 2012. Professor Mohamed Ridza has started his career as a lecturer at University of Malaya starting from 1989 until 2001 before joining IIUM under Kulliyyah of Science in 2001. At IIUM, he has been entrusted to hold management posts as the Deputy Dean (Student Affairs) at the Kulliyyah of Science (July 2002 until June 2004) and later at the Centre for Postgraduate Studies (July 2004 until June 2005). Prior to that, from June 2005 through 2011, Professor Mohamed Ridza has been on secondment to MIMOS Berhad (MIMOS) to lead the Cyber Security R&D for National Security especially in Quantum Cryptograhy and he has also been a member of MIMOS Senior Leadership Team for the period January 2007 until June 2011. He has served as Dean of Research Management Centre since September 2011 until June 2012, and he sits in the IIUM Senate from the year 2004.

Professor Mohamed Ridza Wahidin holds BSc (Hons), MSc, PhD degrees from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), United Kingdom in Physics and has been awarded the higher doctorate degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) in December 2004 from the same university.
