Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Zaki Zainudin from the Department of Biotechnology Engineering, Kulliyyah of Engineering, recently visited the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), at Goa, India, through an invitation extended by Professor Vethamony. The visit primarily encompassed discussion of work pertaining to the development of water quality models for the west coast of India. During his brief visit, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Zaki Zainudin delivered a talk on water quality modeling to Professor Vethamony's team of specialists. Professor Vethamony is a Chief Scientist at NIO. His research projects include (but not limited to) marine structures, sea state with satellite inputs, coastal processes of coasts through measurements and modeling, ballast water control and management, simulation and forecast of coastal winds, impact on the coastal zone due to anthropogenic pressures, etc.
