CERVICAL CANCER AWARENESS & HPV VACCINATION CAMPAIGN FROM 18TH NOVEMBER UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2011

 

 

In Malaysia, cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer affecting women. It has caused a devastating total of 766 deaths a year in Malaysia. However, every two minutes, there is one (1) woman die of cervical cancer worldwide. Every woman is at risk of cervical cancer, regardless of age and lifestyle.

 

Due to this important fact, Cervical Cancer Awareness & HPV Vaccination Campaign will be organized by IIUM Health & Wellness Centre with joint effort of Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK), the world leading pharmaceutical company.

 

To know more about the cervical cancer and the campaign, come and join us for the launching scheduled as follows:

 

Date/Day: 18th November 2011/Friday

Time: 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Venue: Mini Auditorium, Gombak Campus (Above Babush Café)

 

Activities during the launching are:

 

• Campaign exhibition

• Official launching by the Deputy Rector (Research & Innovation)

• Cervical Cancer Prevention Talk

• On-site vaccination at special rate for staff and students
