Postgraduate Diploma Programme
Diploma in Islamic Studies
ISTAC is inviting students to its one-year programme which commenced in December 2007, and was designed to stimulate growing Islamic awareness in contemporary Malaysia. The programme gives exposure to the Islamic worldview, knowledge and perspectives to people from both the public and private sectors. Classes are held every Saturday from 10 a.m. - 3.00 p.m.
This programme is designed to serve the following objectives:
- To present an opportunity for the Malaysian public to acquire knowledge about Islam, its values, history, civilization, institutions, thought and perspectives
- To forge a closer relationship between academics and intellectual leaders in the public and private sectors
Admissions
The admission requirements for this Diploma are as follows:
1. Bachelor's Degree (with Honours) or its equivalent from a recognized
institution, with at least 3 years of working experience; or
2. Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution, with
at least 5 years working experience; or
3. Other relevant professional qualification that are acceptable to IIUM,
and work experience of not less than 5 years.
Class Schedule
Classes are held every Saturday form 10.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m.
Duration of Study
Duration of study is one academic year (i.e. two semesters). The study includes course work only.
Evaluation
Evaluation for the programme is based on examination, assignments and a project paper.
