Definitions

CAC

The Change Advisory Committee (CAC) is the body which exists to support the authorization of changes and to assist in the assessment and authorization of change. It is not the CAC's direct responsibility to make technical and business reviews. CAC should ensure that the Change Initiator has facilitated the necessary technical and business reviews. Membership of CAC is the ITD management members and relevant other members (inside and outside of the Information Technology Division) subject to the requirement of the change request.

Change Coordinators

The Change Coordinator is the main facilitator of the Change Management process of the RFC. Among others, the Change Coordinator is responsible to ensure that a Technical Review, Business  Review  and other prerequisite are undertaken before a change is submitted for CAC approval. The Change Coordinator is also to ensure change implementation is completed successfully.

Change Implementers

Performs the change(s) on the affected Configuration Item(s) and report back to the Change Coordinator on the status of the change.

Change Initiators

The change initiator is the person who initially perceives the need for the change, develops, plans, and executes the steps necessary to meet the initial requirements for a request for change.

CI

Configuration items may comprise of hardware, software, or documentation.  Examples include services, servers, environments, equipment, network components, desktops, mobile units, applications, licenses, telecommunication services, and facilities.

CMS

The Configuration Management System is a central data store that has all the relevant details of each CI coupled with the important relationships for that CI.
