The Master of Science in Quantity Surveying & International Procurement (MSc. QS&IP) is a postgraduate programme offered by the Department of Quantity Surveying(D.QS). This programme is designed not only to upgrade the training and skills of practicing professionals but also to provide intellectual and professional training to those wishing to specialize in the Quantity Surveying and International Procurement area at postgraduate level.

Entry Requirements

The programme aims to cater/meet :

•high level of demands on advanced knowledge and skills in the field of quantity surveying and international procurement
•equip professional quantity surveyors with knowledge on current issues in contract administration, construction, project and business management within a national and increasingly global context
•provide highly relevant courses that are industry-led, with an emphasis on case study material using a combination of lectures, seminars and workshops.
•ensure academic rigor through a range of formal assessments including written examinations, work-based assignments and independent research-based dissertation.

Mode of delivery includes lecture, seminar, discussions, visits, project paper and dissertation.

 

The Master of Science in Quantity Surveying & International Procurement (MSc. QS&IP) programme is an 18-month full-time programme that is designed to broaden and deepen the knowledge of the Professional in Quantity Surveying & International Procurement field. The programme will enable graduates to develop:

•advanced knowledge on core areas of QS practice from a Malaysian and international perspective and able to identify the roles and  functions of the key stakeholders in the construction industry
•higher level of understanding, knowledge and skills in quantity surveying and international procurement
•enhance investigative capabilities through conducting project based assessments
•experience in research through conducting a practical, work-based dissertation focused on current problems facing the QS practice
•professional and ethical values in performing the roles as quantity surveyors and managers.
