Programme Description
Academic Concept
It is the preceeding two years of the five years degree programme in architecture after successful completion of Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies or Equivalent. The programme will lead to completion of Part 2 of the two parts professional programme required by the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM)
Career Opportunities
Job prospects for Bachelor of Architecture graduates includes:
- As a Governments or Public Architect with the Public Works Department and Statutory Bodies;
- Corporate/Professional Architect – running own practice or as partnership or as an employee in a big architectural organization;
- Project Manager – managing a development project on behalf of a client;
- Specialist in the field of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD);
- Research Officer (with universities, research institutions, NGO’s or private firms);
- Consultant or Advisor – to specific projects;
- Graphic Illustrator;

Entry Requirements
Admission Requirement
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies of equivalent recognized by the Ministry of Education or the Board of Architects Malaysia as equivalent to Part 1
- Subject to interview and portfolio review by the department
Language Requirement
English is the primary medium of instruction. All applicants should submit a score of 550 in the TOEEFL(Test of English as a Foreign Language) or 6.0 points in the IELTS (International English Language Testing Services) or EPT (English Placement Test). The latter is administrated by IIUM. Candidates who do not meet the above requirements may take up language proficiency courses within the university to achieve the required standard. Arabic is employed as a secondary medium of instructions.
