Programme Structure
The programme requires the completion of 36 credit hours. Students are given 2 options, Master of Information Technology by Coursework, and Master of Information Technology by Coursework and Dissertation.

However, students may substitute their Masters project with two electives courses which is equivalent to 6 credit hours.

Entry Requirements
Admission Requirements
i. Minimum second class upper undergraduate degree with the CGPA of 2.80 or equivalent, in a discipline related to IT from an institution recognized by the Senate; or
ii. Minimum second class upper undergraduate degree with the CGPA of 2.80 or equivalent, in a discipline unrelated to IT from an institution recognized by the Senate with a minimum of 2 years working experience in IT-related industry or a sufficient exposure to IT; or
iii. On recommendation by the Department of Information Systems Postgraduate Committee, applicants who have a slightly lower qualification than item (i) and (ii) but with working experience in an IT-related industry can also be considered.
Language Proficiency
i. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) / 213 (computer-based); or
ii. International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) with a minimum overall score of 6.0; or
iii. Applicants who are unable to present the required scores in TOEFL or IELTS are allowed to sit for IIUM-administered test (EPT). A minimum of 6.0 is required to be considered for admission.
