MASTER OF PROTECTIVE SECURITY MANAGEMENT (MPSM)

Protective security can no longer be treated in isolation. Knowledge on protective security has developed and essentially turned into a wide-ranging strategy via science and technology set to be effective and operative, Protective security is at the core of security science development, which offers comprehensive knowledge on leading edge security management, security principles and technologies, and other related fields with the central theme of security risk and risk management.

 

In light of the need to provide comprehensive knowledge and training in this field, the Centre for IT Advancement (CITA), International Islamic University Malaysia proudly offers a Master of Protective Security Management. This program is designed especially for officers and personnel of the Chief of Government Security Office (CGSO or KPKK), Prime Minister Department, officers of State Government Security Offices and Department Security Offices, security companies, corporate organizations especially those organizations dealing with critical infrastructures and key installations.

Entry Requirements

Admission Requirements

a)      Any First Degree recognized by the Public Service Department of Malaysia or equivalent and at least two (2) years of working experience in the area approved by the centre; or

b)      Any other recognized qualification and / or other credentials deemed acceptable.

 

Language Proficiency 

i.                    Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) / 213 (computer-based) or International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) with a minimum overall score of 6.0 if the degree is from university where English is not the medium of instruction; or

ii.               English language proficiency as determined by the IIUM English Placement Test (EPT) with minimum of band 6.0; or

iii.             To satisfy the Centre’s Students Admission Committee by producing a certified admission approval from educational institution that uses English as medium of instruction.
