The department is fully committed to a high standard of teaching. A small group, problem-centred teaching philosophy complements the use of up-to-date technology and training facilities. Career development has been an integral part of the Department experience. A wide variety of corporations, including leading audit firms, visit the department annually to recruit our graduates.

The Department continues its efforts to produce well-rounded intellectuals and professionals who are committed to the promotion of Islamic principles and disciplines. Our graduates have been successful in securing jobs in various sectors such as public accounting, auditing, consulting, finance, banking and general management.

Going forward, the Department aspires to develop more rigorous programmes in Accounting from an Islamic perspective. Courses in this area are being offered and taught by our qualified lecturers and international experts. Realising the increasing awareness and need for Islamic banking and finance, our graduates are actively involved in developing accounting practices in various banks and financial institutions.
