Prof. Dr. Azmi Mohd Nor

السلام عليكم ورحمة اللّه وبركاتة

Welcome to the Kulliyyah of Medicine’s website. This Kulliyyah/Faculty of Medicine is the fifth public medical school to be established in Malaysia and it is located in Kuantan the capital city of the State of Pahang, Malaysia. It is registered under a company so as to use the English language as the medium of instruction. The Kulliyyah admits local students as well as from abroad.

As part of the International Islamic University Malaysia, the Kulliyyah upholds the concept of Tawheed in the delivering of knowledge to the students and adopts the university philosophy of Islamization of human knowledge, Integration and Internationalization to achieve Comprehensive Excellence (IIICE) in a garden of knowledge and virtues.

There are approximately 150 qualified full-time and 50 part-time academic staff with approximately 150 supporting staff in Kulliyyah of Medicine.

The medical course is that of five years and it blends the traditional and integrated body systems in preparation for the clinical years. Since its establishment in 1997, the student intake is growing and at present the annual intake is approximately 140 undergraduate students per year. The Kulliyyah building is designed for a maximum intake of 192 undergraduate students. It also utilizes several public hospitals and clinics for clinical teaching and include the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan and the Sultan Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh. Currently the IIUM Teaching Hospital is being built within the vicinity of the campus and is expected to be completed in January 2016.

The entry into the Medical Program is very competitive in view of the rigorous training that is required to become a passionate, qualified, ethical, and competent doctor as well as clinical specialists. The Kulliyyah strives to make the academic programs an interesting and satisfying experience for the students.

The Kulliyyah is active in research both in the basic medical sciences and clinical disciplines. If you think you have what it takes to study or work here, do apply and we will strive to ensure that you will have an interesting, rewarding and enjoyable experience while you are with us.

May Allah S.W.T. bless us all in this noble endeavor.
