Community Health and Family Medicine is covered in the 4th Block of the first year for a total of 7 weeks, and in the 4th year of the medical programme curriculum. The basic concepts of Biostatistics and Epidemiology are taught in the first year through lecturers, problem-based learning, practicums and assignments.

During the fourth year, students will be sent to two postings: MED 4105 and MED 4905. Students will be divided into two groups, and each will be attached to the Health District Office and Polyclinic at Kuantan for five weeks.

Here, they will perform their Public Health attachments and apply their knowledge of Community Medicine acquired in their first year in conducting community surveys, community diagnosis and health intervention. They will also have their Family Medicine attachments in the polyclinics. 

Students will be attached to three primary care clinics in Kuantan and perform their clinical practice. At the end of the posting, they will have one week of revision followed by one week of examination.
