TAPAH: The Health Ministry has identified 22 public and private universities that will provide specialist medical services in 22 district hospital nationwide.

Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the smart partnership between the ministry and the universities would enable more patients to receive specialist treatment within a shorter waiting period.

"It is a win-win solution for the ministry, universities and the public. It is hoped that such collaborations would enable the people to enjoy medical services," he said at the signing of the smart partnership at Tapah Hospital here Monday.

Among the hospitals set to benefit from the partnership are the Bentong, Lahad Datu, Serian and Pasir Mas Hospitals.
