Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I be considered for IIUM Matriculation program if IIUM is not my first choice?
No. Only those applicants who put IIUM as their first choice may be considered for admission into the IIUM Medical Matriculation Program.
2. Can I be considered for MBBS programme if I do not enrol to IIUM Matriculation program?
Yes. Candidates with suitable grades from STPM, Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia Examination or Associate American Degree (AAD) can be considered.
3. I am a foreigner. How do I submit my application?
Applicants should submit their applications at least 3 months earlier and completed their TOEFL prior to arriving in Malaysia.
Submit your application to the Dean, Admission and Records Division (A&R), IIUM main campus, Kuala Lumpur.
4. Are there quotas for certain kinds of applicants?
Yes.
5. I am fully qualified. Does this guaranteed my admission?
No. The fulfillment of the minimum entrance requirements alone does not guarantee admission into the University.
6. Can I pay the registration fees by cash or during registration day?
No, payment can only be made by means of:
» Money order, bank draft or cheque and should be made payable to “Finance Director International Islamic University Malaysia”; OR
» Bank-in directly into the University’s account at any Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad branches at the following account number: 1407-0000005-71-9
A copy of the bank-in slip should be forwarded to the Student Unit of Finance Division for recording of payment. If there is no submission, it is assumed no payment has been made. Please take note that payment has to be settled by the date stipulated in the Offer Letter.
7. What minimum score of TOEFL should I get to qualified for enrolment?
Candidates have to obtain a minimum score of 550 in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
8. What is the duration of the MBBS programme?
The duration is 5-year course leading to the degrees of medicine and surgery (MBBS).
9. What if I do not have a passport, can I apply?
Your Application Form can only be processed once you have submitted all of the following:
» 2 copies of the international passport
» Duly completed Undergraduate Application Form
» Completed Financial Guarantee Form
» Certified true copy of High School Certificate
» Financial Undertaking Letter from your parent or sponsor
»4 coloured passport-sized photos
10. May admitted students defer their studies?
Students who have been issued an offer of admission may apply to defer their enrolment for a maximum of two academic years.
The period of deferment will not be included in the total duration of their studies.
