IIUM to organize the ‘First IP and Innovation Researchers of Asia Conference’

Gombak, – The first IP and Innovation Researchers of Asia (IPIRA) Conference at the Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) Moot Court, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) which is held on 31st January until 1st February 2019.

The three-day program is organized by AIKOL in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), WIPO Academy, World Trade Organization (WTO), Texas A&M University School of Law and the Faculty of Law from University of Geneva.

The event is attended by the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, YB Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and the Chief Justice of Malaysia, Tan Sri Richard Malanjum, who are also the distinguished keynote speakers at the Conference.

 The distinguished guests of the event; the Chairman of Malaysia Intellectual Property Office (MIPO), YBRS. Dr. Rozhan Othman and Director General of MIPO, Dato Mohd. Roslam Mahayudin, are also present.

The purpose of the conference is to bring together research scholars in Asia, Irene said. About 150 scholars from all over the world with various seniority levels attend the conference in IIUM for intellectual exchanges, particularly those who are interested in Intellectual Property (IP) law and related issues in Asia.

IPIRA is conducting conference and parallel sessions for the first two days of the program which are presented by approximately 50 scholars worldwide. In addition, IPIRA is conducting a research workshop pertaining to research methodologies on the third day of the program.
