CARING MONARCH: SULTAN OF PAHANG CONTRIBUTES RM 40,000 TO SYRIAN STUDENTS’ FUND

IIUM Constitutional Head, His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, personally donated RM 40,000 to a special fund set up to assist students from Syria currently studying at the International Islamic University Malaysia [I.I.U.M.].

The donation was made during the Grand Iftar (breaking of the fast) event organised by IIUM’s Corporate Communications Division (CCD)  for the staff and students as well as distinguished invitees and dignitaries and Friends of IIUM.   About 2,000 people attended the buka puasa  event which was followed by Maghrib,  dinner, Isya’ prayers, and then the Terawih prayers.  The event was held at the Sultan Hj. Ahmad Shah mosque located at the IIUM campus in Gombak, near Kuala Lumpur on 13th August, 2012 [24th Ramadhan, 1433].
