Department of Basic Medical Sciences for Nursing
The Department of Basic Medical Science was established in June 2011 in response to give a better foundation courses for Bachelor of Nursing program. The newly established department was responsible of improving the quality and relevance of basic science education for nursing students. As the department has matured, we have also planned on developing research programs in specific basic medical science disciplines. The Department is currently headed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohamad Lokman Md Isa.
The department had highlighted its vision and mission to ensure the future direction and smooth running of the department. The vision and mission are as stated below:
VISION
To be a recognized and distinguished department by providing an excellent teaching, training and interdisciplinary research activities inculcate with Islamic value for nursing student in order to translate their knowledge into compassionate clinical care at the highest quality.
MISSION
To guide undergraduate students to understand the fundamentals of basic medical sciences that will form a sound base for the clinical practice.
- To establish novel, advanced and diversed research activities of graduate students through collaboration with the other Kulliyyahs and universities.
- To produce competent graduate nurses with highly equipped knowledge of BMS in strong Islamic, moral and ethical values.
- To provide highly motivated, innovative and competitive staffs at all levels, working in an environment that is Islamic, tolerant and caring in line with the mission of the Kulliyyah and university.
