In order to obtain the Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) degree from the International Islamic University Malaysia, a student must successfully complete a total of 134 (136)* Credit Hours (CH) of coursework consisting of University Required Courses, Kulliyyah Required Courses and Kulliyyah Core Courses.

University Required Courses are courses required by the University to be taken by all students registering for a particular programme. These courses are either compulsory or elective (that is, taken by choice from more than one permitted option) as determined by the IIUM Senate.

Kulliyyah Required Courses are formulated with the aim of enhancing or “adding to” the employment potential of graduates by enabling them to be more resourceful and competence in a variety of health services-related activities.

Kulliyyah Core Courses are the fundamental courses required to prepare students for their roles as competent, beginning practitioners of professional nursing. These courses are compulsory. To be eligible to graduate, students are required to pass all of these courses.
