This research-focused doctoral programme will promote the development of a cognitive style that emphasizes abstract thinking and critical analysis of the research findings for building knowledge that advances culturally competent nursing and nursing education. The programme aims to inculcate the Islamic knowledge and value in nursing art and science for the nature and future of humankind. The fundamental concern is to promote human wellbeing at an individual, local and global level within a sustainable environment. As such, this program is different from other interdisciplinary educational initiatives in that its curriculum is purposely designed rather than simply an amalgamation of existing disciplines.
Duration of the study:
3 years full time or 4 years part time programme (normal progression)
- A relevant Master’s degree with minimum CGPA of 3.0 or equivalent from IIUM or any other accredited institution of higher learning.
- Applications from candidates with other certificates that are recognized as equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Nursing or relevant qualifications that are recognized by the Senate of the University.
Candidates must demonstrate a good command of the English Language. Our English language requirement is:
- TOEFL 500; or
- IELTS 5; or
- English Placement Test 5 (administered by the University)
