Physics is the study of the behavior of space, time, fields, and matter. Research in physics seeks to explore and explain fundamental questions that range from the largest scales involving the entire universe to the smallest scales involving the most fundamental particles. Using highly advanced experimental techniques and mathematical methods, allow physicists collect the detail measurement phenomena to construct theories that explain how the universe in it behave.
Department of Physics at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) is one of the places in the world for research and education in physics. Undergraduate and graduate are mentored in research in quantum optics and quantum information, atomic and laser physics, condensed matter physics, classical and quantum metrology, biophysics and sensor.

Department of Physcs is headed by Associate Professor Doctor Jesni bin Shamsul Shaari
