Safety and Health Regulations

All users of the Sports Complexes are required to adhere to the safety policies and guidelines during usage/match/tournament stated as follows:

  1. Remove all minor safety hazards before use;
  2. Users are advised not to use facilities or playing surface if deemed unsafe. To inform the Sports and Recreational Centre staff on the situation immediately;
  3. Ensure there is an emergency action plan in place including:
    1. Access to telephone at all times;
    2. Clear or unlocked access for emergency vehicles at all times;

     4.  Ensure adequate separation of space between the spectators and the officials from the playing area; and

     5.  To suspend or to cancel or abort any usage of facilities during thunderstorms and excessively heavy rain.



It is also recommended that all users to ensure that:

  1. A fully stocked first aid kit, including ice packs, is available at all times;
  2. A qualified first aid person is in attendance at all times;
  3. All coaches are appropriately qualified;
  4. All referees and umpires are appropriately qualified; 
  5. Appropriate protective equipment is worn by all participants at all times. Protective equipment should be properly fitted and comply with relevant standards;
  6. Records are kept for all significant injuries. All relevant medical and injury history information about participant is passed on to team officials before competing;
  7. Adequate warming up, stretching and cooling down exercises are completed by all participants;
  8. Appropriate action is taken to ensure protection from over exposure to the sun;
  9. All participants have access to clean drinking water and are encouraged     to have individual water containers;
  10. Appropriate steps are taken to prevent the spread of infectious diseases     and to comply with infection control practices for a bleeding athlete; and
  11. Report any accident and misconduct immediately to the management of Sports and Recreational Centre.
