Expert Profile


Associate Professor Dr. Farheen Baig Sardar Baig has a Diploma in Islamic Studies, Bachelor of Law (LL.B (Hons), Master of Comparative Laws (MCL) and Doctor of Philosophy in Law (Ph.D) all from the IIUM. She was admitted to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor by the High Court of Malaya in 1995 and thereafter, joined the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws.
She is currently an Associate Professor at the said Kulliyyah. She has co-authored several books on Employment Law: Retrenchment: The Law and Practice in Malaysia (Sweet and Maxwell Asia, 2012); Migrant Workers Law and Practice in Malaysia (Malaysian Current Law Journal (MCLJ), 2012); Sexual Harassment at the Workplace in Malaysia (Malaysian Current Law Journal (MCLJ), Ampang, 2011); and Procedure for Unfair Dismissal Claims in Malaysia (Petaling Jaya: LexisNexis, 2009).
Apart from the above, she has written numerous articles published in both local and international journals/reports and has also presented papers at conferences in the areas of Employment Law and Civil Litigation.
Her areas of interests include Employment Law, Law of Torts, Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
She was conferred the Best Teacher Award at Kulliyyah Level in 2006.
