Expert Profile
Dr Deny Susanti is an Associate Professor at Department of Chemistry, Kulliyyah of Science. Her research of interest is in Natural Product Chemistry field that will lead for drug discovery research. Her particular focuses are isolation of active compounds from natural resources, optimisation of extraction and separation techniques, and cosmetic formulation. A central aim of her work is on isolation (using several extraction methods) and characterisation (using (UV, FTIR, 1D and 2D NMR, MS techniques) of the phytochemicals from natural resources (including plants, animal, marine sources and actinomycetes) using bioassay guided isolation and several separations (including liquid-liquid and solid-liquid) techniques. Another primary of her work is optimisation extraction process to enhance the yield of active compounds (including essential oil and other secondary metabolites) using Response Surface Analysis (RSM). Also, she and her colleagues now, designing several natural based formulations of cosmetic products. Lastly, she has published a number of articles in several journal related to my area.
