1. To provide a platform for researchers, scientists and academicians to share their research findings describing traditional and latest applications and practices of medical and health sciences, and  the role of moral values and Maqasid al-Shari’ah therein, in line with the university’s mission of integration and Islamizisation of acquired human knowledge at a more specified and practical level.
  2. To identify research avenues, multi-disciplinary in nature; that combines scientific research findings in natural sciences and healthcare practices with legal, ethical and religious values.
  3. To address the need to review certain aspects of the medical curriculum and healthcare practices, in a way that would be more in harmony with the ethical principles and the moral teachings of the Qur’an, the Sunnah and the positive traditions of Islamic civilizations.
  4. To showcase IIUM’s achievements, particularly in natural sciences and healthcare practices, in terms of teaching, research, community services and publications, after three decades of its existence, in fulfilling the Mission of “Islamization of Human Knowledge” (IOHK) as stated in the Constitution (Memorandum of Association) of the University.
