    1.1.3 Exemption from English Proficiency Test (EPT) also can be given for students who have graduated from the following English-speaking countries: UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA. (Certificates from other than these 5 countries are not accepted).

                                 

    1.1.4 Other accepted certificates are as follows:

    • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE):Minimum Grade B 
    • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): Minimum Grade A
    • English Language GCSE, IGCSE or O-Level : Minimum Grade B
    • International Baccalaureate Standard Level (SL & HL): Score of 5 in English
    • European Baccalaureate: Score of 70% in English

      

    1.1.5 In the case that you do not fulfill the EPT requirement, you are required to undergo the Pre-Sessional Programme (PRSS) before proceeding to the respective programme of studies and pay the tuition fee while in the programme. The maximum duration of the Pre-Sessional Programme (PRSS) is two (2) years or 6 semesters.

    2.  ARABIC PROFICIENCY TEST (APT)

     

    The Arabic Proficiency Test (APT) is a test that will be conducted during the first week of your enrolment to the university to determine the level of proficiency especially those who will be taking programme with Arabic language as a medium instruction.

     

    2.2.1 Minimum requirements for undergraduates and postgraduates (all campuses):

    2.2.2 An exemption may be given to students who fulfil one of these criteria:

    Undergraduate:

    Graduated from Arab countries that use Arabic as a single medium of instruction (among Arab countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen). (Certificates from other than these 19 countries are not accepted)

     

     

    2.2.3 Placement of Arabic Proficiency Test (APT)

    In the case that you do not fulfil the APT requirement (for Arabic Language & Literature, Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Heritage, Islamic Education and Arabic for Communication programmes   where the medium of instruction is Arabic), you are required to undergo the Pre-Sessional Programme (PRSS) before proceeding to the respective programme of studies and pay the tuition fee while in the programme. The maximum duration of the Pre-Sessional Programme (PRSS) is two (2) years or 6 semesters.

    3. TILAWAH PROFICIENCY TEST ( TPT) 

    The Tilawah Proficiency Test (TPT) to determine your level of recitation of the al Quran and understanding of Tajweed. The test will be conducted several times.

    There are three levels of TPT that you have to fulfill as your graduation requirements.

    4. MALAY PROFICIENCY TEST (MPT)

    The Malay Proficiency Test (MPT) will be offered to the International students (by request) who wish to be exempted from enrolling into the Unicore Bahasa Melayu courses. Any International students who do not wish to be exempted, they are required to register for Unicore Bahasa Melayu courses as suggested in their study plan.

    International students who have passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or any Bahasa Melayu proficiency test (Example : Cambridge IGCSE: Malay 0546), they are required to register for Bahasa Melayu courses as determined by your respective Kulliyyah (please refer to Kulliyyah).

    Malaysian students who do not have the SPM/STPM or any other professional qualifications in Bahasa Melayu, they are required to register for Bahasa Melayu Unicore courses as stated in the Study Plan.
