IIUM Maal Hijrah Intervarsity Arabic Debate Championship started in 2013. It is an annual Arabic debating tournament organised by IIUM Arabic Debating and Public Speaking Club; and the only intervarsity Arabic debating championship organised in Malaysia. IIUM Maal Hijrah Debate, since its first series, managed to assemble Arabic debaters from various universities and colleges in Malaysia in view of their love towards Arabic language, one of six world languages, and of that towards Arabic debate and oratory. 

Realising the role of IIUM Arabic Debating and Public Speaking Club to ignite the flame of love towards their world and its community, and to provide a strong platform for Arabic speakers in Malaysia to enhance their Arabic language skills, the Club is bringing back IIUM Maal Hijrah Debate its 3rd series after making it a success in 1435H (2013) and 1436H (2014).
