KULLIYYAH OF PHARMACY

ALPHA stands for IIUM Pharmacy Alumni Association, a union body for the alumni of the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy (KOP), IIUM. It currently being registered under the Alumni Office of IIUM in Gombak. The members consist of the alumni graduates of the KOP, be it undergraduate programme (BPharm) or postgraduate programmes (Masters & PhD). However, a membership fees is necessary to become a member of ALPHA.

ALPHA was founded in 2009, with the inspiration from the first dean of KOP, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Tariq Abdul Razak, and some of the concerned alumni from the early batches. Up to date (2019), the number of KOP alumni has reached more than a thousand. Yet, the registered members of ALPHA currently stands at 197. Up until its 10th year of existence, there has been 2 different office bearers lineup, which next change is due in the nearest coming AGM.

ALPHA also serves as the Kulliyyah alumni chapter of KOP, an initiative from the Alumni and Career Services Division (now Alumni Relations Division) of IIUM since 2015, to ensure each kulliyyahs has established their own alumni chapters. As a result, the KOP Alumni Chapter has been successfully officiated during the 2nd ALPHA Gathering in October 2015.

Throughout its founding and developing years, ALPHA has been a platform of connecting the KOP Alumni with their alma mater, with the current KOP students and also with the community at large. There were numerous activities being organised for the benefit of those stakeholders.
