Dr Abdul Alif Abd Hamid is an Assistant Professor at the Kulliyyah of Nursing, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Kuantan Campus, where he currently serves as the Deputy Dean of Student Development and Community Engagement. He is an academic, nurse educator, and researcher with specialised interests in forensic nursing, emergency nursing, resuscitation science, and emergency response education.
In his executive leadership role, Dr Alif leads strategic initiatives related to student welfare, holistic professional development, community engagement, and the integration of Islamic values within nursing education and practice. He is committed to empowering future healthcare professionals through strong support systems, community health advocacy, and meaningful professional exposure. He also actively strengthens strategic networking with healthcare industries, particularly within the private healthcare sector, to expand student opportunities in scholarships, clinical exposure, employability, and career development pathways.
Dr Alif’s academic and professional expertise is strongly anchored in education for emergency nursing response, particularly in the areas of CPR, sudden cardiac arrest, resuscitation preparedness, trauma response, and simulation-based learning. His work focuses on translating emergency care knowledge into practical, evidence-based education for students, healthcare providers, and community members. Through this focus, he contributes to strengthening bystander readiness, emergency preparedness, and community resilience in responding to life-threatening situations.
In addition, Dr Alif has a specialised research interest in forensic nursing, particularly at the intersection of trauma care, medico-legal documentation, toxicology, correctional health, and emergency clinical practice. His work highlights the important role of nurses in recognising, documenting, and responding to medico-legal and forensic issues in healthcare settings. He is also involved in toxicological and biomedical investigations using zebrafish (Danio rerio) models, further expanding his interdisciplinary contribution to nursing science and healthcare research.
