Nasimah binti Hussin obtained her Bachelor of Syariah (Hon) from University of Malaya (1991), her M.C.L. from IIUM (1992) and Ph.D from University of Edinburgh (1997) in Islamic Criminal Law. She joined IIUM in 1991 and is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Islamic Law, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws. The areas of her research interests are: Islamic Law, Criminal Law, Victimology, Usul Fiqh, Women and Child Issues etc. She has published several articles, some of them being: Sulh as a Method of Alternative Dispute Resolution in Criminal Cases: An Islamic Perspective, Factors Which Influence the Degree of Punishment: The Practice in the Syariah Court of Malaysia, Abortion and Causing Miscarriage: Islamic Medical Perspective.
In 2012, she was appointed as the Head of Islamic Law Department, AIKOL. She has been serving as a member of Student Disciplinary Board IIUM since 2003.
