Expert Profile


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sany Izan Ihsan is an Associate Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department. He obtained his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1995, MSc in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Tennessee Space Institute (UTSI) in 1999 and Ph.D in Engineering from IIUM in 2008. His research areas of interests include noise and vibration, ride quality, vehicle dynamic and control, semi-active control system, solar thermal, renewable energy and engineering education. He has carried out joint research work with Virginia Tech., USA in the area of vehicle dynamics.
He has published several papers in international journals and conferences in the areas of solar thermal, ride quality, semiactive systems, vibration and engineering education.
He is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Academic) at the International Islamic College (IIC).
