Expert Profile
Prof. Ir. Dr. Zuraida Ahmad, a graduate of University Science Malaysia (USM), Pulau Pinang started her career as a research assistant in Ceramics Technology Laboratory, SIRIM, Shah Alam in 1992 before being offered a scholarship to further her study under Skim Latihan Anggota Baru (SLAB) by SIRIM in the same year to UMIST, Manchester.
She was appointed as a Research Officer after she came back and two years later, in 1995, she was promoted to executive researcher in the same organization. Here, she handled some of the commercialized projects as Jitra Pot Water Filter, Halal Bone China Products and Lightweight Clay Aggregates. In 1999, she opted to serve International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), as a lecturer and later completed her Ph.D in Materials Engineering in the same University.
Upon graduation, she was offered the post of Assistant Professor and held the administrative post as an Executive Officer for Training Programme in Advanced Engineering and Innovation Centre (AEIC) before holding the Post of Deputy Dean, Student Affair in Kulliyyah of Engineering, from 2008 to 2012. Currently, she isĀ Professor in Manufacturing and Materials Engineering Department, Kulliyyah of Engineering, IIUM.
