Expert Profile
He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design, International Islamic University Malaysia. Upon completing his Ph.D in Urban and Regional Planning in 1998, he joined Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design, International Islamic University Malaysia in 1999. Dr. Azeez, then, continued his post-doctoral fellow at Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan under the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) post-doctoral fellowship award from April 2000 to September 2001.
He teaches Urban Traffic System, Infrastructure Planning and Transportation Planning to the undergraduates at Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design at International Islamic University Malaysia. Some of his major publications in the Journal includes living environmental settings in residential areas, parking demand at park and ride facility, travel implications of telecommuting, public transport planning and effects of road humps on speed and noise at residential areas. He is the author of books entitled "Parking Studies in IIUM", "Urban Traffic System", "Telecommuting and Transportation" and "Manual for Data Collection and Analysis on Traffic and Transport Sector for Planning Studios".
He has also involved in consultancy projects on traffic system in International Islamic University Malaysia, traffic and transport system in few selected areas in Malaysia. He is an Associate Member of Malaysian Institute of Planners, Member of Transportation Science Society Malaysia and Member of International Scientific Committee of Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies (EASTS).
