Expert Profile
Dzun Noraini Jimat is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biotechnology Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. She obtained her Ph.D in Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials from Newcastle University Upon Tyne, United Kingdom in 2011. Her research interests are in the areas of Microbial Fermentation, Immobilization of Cells, Synthesis and Characterization of Nanofiber and Bioprocess Design and Optimization.
She has eight years experience in teaching Biotechnology Engineering Laboratory IV, Biochemical Processes, Biochemical Engineering Fundamental, Separation Processes for Biochemical Products and Biological Reactor Design and Analysis. Dr Dzun also serves as a departmental committee such as Technical Laboratories and BTE Postgraduate. She has published over seven papers in national and international conferences and five book chapters.
She is a member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia, IEM (2013 - Present). She was a Biotechnology Engineering Academic Advisor (2011-2013), Coordinator for BTE Final Year Students (2013-present) and an associate member of Bioprocess and Biomolecular Engineering Research Unit (BPMERU).
