Muhammad Kamil bin Che Hasan obtained his Bachelor of Health Science (Hons) (Nursing) from Universiti Sains Malaysia. Upon completion of his study, he started his career as a nurse at Kota Bharu Medical Centre, followed by Prince Court Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
Later, he joined IIUM as an Assistant Lecturer and was on scheduled basis attached to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan as a Staff Nurse. Then, he pursued Masters in Nursing (Orthopaedics & Traumatology) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre, Cheras Kuala Lumpur for two years. In August 2014 until February 2015, he completed his Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Nursing from International Medical University, Kuala Lumpur.
He was appointed as Deputy Dean (Academic Affairs) from July 2013 until September 2015 before pursuing his PhD in Nursing at The University of Manchester, United Kingdom until March 2019. In April 2020, he was appointed as Deputy Dean (Academic and Industrial Linkages) until July 2021. At present, he is the Dean, Kulliyyah of Nursing and Assistant Professor at Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing. He is the Editor-in-Chief for International Journal of Care Scholars (January 2022-December 2023), a member of Nursing Council, Public Institutions of Higher Learning Malaysia (2013-2015 & 2020-2023), life members of the Malaysian Nurses Association, Malaysian Society of Wound Care Professionals, Malaysian Orthopaedic Nurses Association and Malaysian Osteoporosis Association.
