Asst Prof. Dr Shamim Rahman started housemanship training at Hospital Besar Seremban in 2004 after completing his studies at International Islamic University Malaysia. In 2007, he served Hospital Selayang as a medical officer in Urology and ENT and in July 2009, joined IIUM as a trainee lecturer and enrolled for the Master of ORL-HNS, MS (ORL HNS) with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya (UM). He spent four years to complete the Master programme as required and was awarded the Master of ORL HNS, MS (ORL HNS) in March 2014. He then returned to Kuantan to serve IIUM as a Clinical Specialist in ORL H&S. He is currently a reviewer for an international journal.
He is passionate about teaching and contributing back to society, and as such he is active in humanitarian missions working together with NGOs. Despite his clinical and academic commitment, he is also very active in conducting seminars and workshops and is often invited as speaker for various organizations.
