Expert Profile


Dr. Sarina Sulaiman graduated from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) with a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) in 2004 and Master of Science (MSc) in Chemical Engineering. Her MSc research focused on composites and development of brake pad from carbon fiber reinforced phenolic resin. She then moved to UniKL where she was appointed as a lecturer in July 2007.
As a lecturer, she is highly involved in research and engineering education. Then, she pursued her Ph.D and graduated from UM in 2012. Her Ph.D research was on biodiesel production using reactive extraction.
Currently she is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biotechnology Engineering. She is heading two research projects and a co-reseacher of three research grants which are worth more than RM320,000. She has published more than 20 papers in international and national chemical engineering journals.
