Mohammad Jamshed Siddiqui obtained his BSc (Hons), MSc, MPhil and Ph.D degrees from Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh, India in the area of Chemistry. After completion of his Ph.D in 1991, he joined the Research & Development of Pharmaceutical Industry and worked there for fifteen years dealing with commercial aspects of natural products or new chemical entities and involved extensively in the synthesis of anti-cancer drugs. The meaningful research was transformed into technology transferred to bulk drugs and finally publications and patents in reputed journals and patented agencies.
He switched careers and turned an academic primarily as a postdoctoral fellow at the University Science Malaysia (USM) from 2008 to 2011. He served as a senior lecturer at School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences International Medical University Malaysia from March 2011 to June 2012.
Since June 2012 Dr Jamshed has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, IIUM.
