Expert Profile
Nur Nadiah Abdul Rashid holds a Master’s degree in Nanosciences from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and recently completed her Ph.D. in Pharmacy, specializing in Pharmaceutical Technology, at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2024. During her postgraduate studies, Nur Nadiah was awarded a Graduate Research Fellowship by UPM (2012–2013) to support her master’s research on the development of anticancer drug delivery systems. Her Ph.D. research introduced her to bioinformatics, where she successfully designed a DNA aptamer capable of screening for ovarian cancer biomarkers. This work combined in silico and in vitro methodologies to advance ovarian cancer screening techniques.
During her undergraduate studies, she was fully sponsored by Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) to complete her internship in Gwangju, South Korea, under a cancer research team led by Prof. Sang Yong Jon. Nur Nadiah’s research contributions have been recognized at several international conferences, where she received awards for best oral presentations. Additionally, she demonstrated strong communication skills by excelling in academic competitions such as the 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) competitions.
She began her career as a full-time chemistry lecturer at the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS), IIUM, in September 2012. Currently, she serves in the same position at the CFS IIUM, Gambang campus, where she continues to contribute to teaching and research in her field.
