Expert Profile

Dr. Rafiq Khalid graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2012. He served two years as a dental officer, followed by a subsequent two years as a trainee lecturer at IIUM. In 2016, he pursued his postgraduate studies, and in 2020 graduated with a Master of Clinical Dentistry in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology (MClinDent) from University Malaya. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Diagnosis, Kulliyyah of Dentistry, IIUM. Besides undergraduate teaching, he is also a practicing oral medicine and oral pathology specialist at both the Kulliyyah of Dentistry and Sultan Ahmad Shah Medical Centre (SASMEC), IIUM. His area of research interest include oral cancer and oral maxillofacial  infections.
