Expert Profile


Ali A. Alwan obtained his BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Al-Jabal Al-Gharbi University, Libya in 2005. In 2006, he continued to Graduate School at University Putra Malaysia (UPM) to pursue a Master degree in Computer Science, specialized in Database Systems. He did his research on Integrity Constraints Checking in Distributed Database Systems and graduated with a Master degree in Database Systems in 2009. In 2009, he continued his study for a Ph.D degree at the same university and department, specialized in Preference Query in Incomplete Database Systems. He did his research on Processing Skyline Queries in Incomplete Database and graduated with Ph.D degree in database systems in 2013.
Due to his excellent research outstanding, he has awarded Graduate Research Fellowship from University Putra Malaysia during his Master and Ph.D studies.
He worked as a part-time lecturer at International Islamic University Malaysia IIUM, Malaysia from December 2008 till March 2014. In April 2014, he joined IIUM as an assistant professor working in the Department of Computer Science. He has published many papers in reputed international conferences and journals. He is also serving as a reviewer and technical committee member in many international conferences and journals.

QUALITY OF SERVICES, SPEED OF RESPONSIVENESS AND THE THROUGHPUT OF THE SYSTEMS ARE THE MAIN METRICS USED TO EVALUATE THE SCHEDULING ALGORITHMS.

IN THIS RESEARCH WE EMPHASIZE ON HOW TO COMBINE TOW DATABASES WITH DIFFERENT NUMBER OF ATTRIBUTES AND DATA AND CREATE A GLOBAL DATABASE. FOCUS IS GIVEN ON PROPOSING NEW METHODS TO PROCESS THE SCHEMA MATCHING OPERATION IN THE DATABASE, INCLUDING NEURAL NETWORK, MACHINE LEARNING, AND REGULAR EXPRESSION TECHNIQUES.

THAT MEANS, SUGGESTING THE MOST RELEVANT NEWS THAT MEET THE USER PREFERENCES WHILE NAVIGATING THE NEWS WEBSITES. FOCUS IS GIVEN ON THE ISSUE OF HOW TO CLUSTER AND FILTER OUT THE CONTENTS OF THE NEWS WEBSITES IN A WAY THAT RANK THE NEWS ON REAL-TIME BASED WHILE USER IS READING THE NEWS. THE MAIN ISSUE CONCERN IS THE RELEVANCY, THE ACCURACY OF THE RETRIEVED NEWS AND THE RESPONSIVENESS.
