Fatimah Noor Rashidah Mohd Sofian obtained her Bachelor's in Accounting from University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) in 2010 which was funded by a reputable scholarship, Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman (YTAR). She was awarded the "Hadiah Sarjana Terengganu 2010" by Yayasan Terengganu for the Bachelor's First-Class achievement. Not long after, she obtained Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) equivalent to a master's degree from the International Centre of Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) in 2012 funded by INCEIF.
She embarked on her career in 2011-2014 gaining employment in RHB Bank Berhad with the Group Treasury & Global Markets division. Her job scope in Corporate FX Sales entails that she would quote FX rates to her clients and concurrently advise on current economic activities for her clients to make informed decisions. Her clients portfolio consist of commercial companies/large corporations (KL, Klang Valley, Southern, and East region) and Government-Linked companies. Hence, she dealt with various types of clients in regards to FX corporate rate throughout her career. She also attended the 4 modules Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia Certificate funded by RHB Bank Berhad. Later, she pursued her Doctorate Degree at University of Malaya (UM) and produced a thesis titled " CSR, Corporate Reputation and Financial Performance of Islamic banks in Malaysia: Stakeholders' Perceptions" in 2020.
Presently, she is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Finance, Kuliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) where she teaches subjects Accounting for Islamic Financial Institutions, Financial Statement Analysis, and Legal Aspects of Islamic Banking & Finance. She has published several articles and book chapter starting from 2016 until the present. Most of her research is regarding Islamic finance, CSR, sustainability and also contribution in the analysis part. Apart from teaching and research activities, she is also an examiner for a programme in Islamic Banking & Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM). Besides, she is currently pursuing Postgraduate Diploma Islamic Studies (PGDIS) in IIUM. Fatimah is passionate in sharing her experience and knowledge to the students as well as doing research in finance and Islamic finance.
