Expert Profile


Dr. Azniza Hartini Azrai Azaimi Ambrose obtained her Bachelor of Mathematical Science from International Islamic University Malaysia and Master of Science (Finance) from the same university. Later, she pursued her Doctorate Degree at Universiti Malaya and produced a thesis titled "Impact of Waqf Financing on Federal Government Expenditure and Debt in Malaysia". She has published several articles in the Journal of Southeast Asian Studies (JATI), the International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern FInance and Management (IMEFM), the International Journal of Economics, Management, and Accounting (IJEMA), and the International Journal of Green Economics; all Scopus indexed. Occasionally, Dr. Azniza becomes a reviewer for papers submitted to journals the likes of IMEFM, IJEMA, and Cogent Arts & Humanities. Her field of interest includes waqf and Islamic Finance; particularly from the lens of mathematics. Presently, she is appointed by Jabatan Wakaf, Zakat dan Haji (JAWHAR) as an expert to come out with a policy and manual on temporary waqf for the nation. She is also a member of International Waqf Action Council (iWAQF). In addition, Dr. Azniza is the Chairman of the Curriculum Review Committee for the Bachelor of Finance (Islamic Finance) (Honours) programme.
