Expert Profile
Dr. Wan Irfan Bin W. Mustapha is a General and Paediatric Radiologist. He obtained his basic medical degree (MD) from the University of Sriwijaya in 2011, followed by a Master of Medicine in Radiology (MMed Radiology) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2020.
He recently completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Radiology at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, in February 2025. Prior to this, he successfully completed his first Paediatric Radiology Fellowship under the local Paediatric Fellowship Programme at the UKM Specialist Children’s Hospital and the Women and Children Hospital, Kuala Lumpur in 2023.
He is currently participating in the ESOR/ESPR 2025 Exchange Programme for Paediatric Radiology Fellowship at the University Hospital Ioannina, Greece, under the supervision of Professor Maria I. Argyropoulou, President of the European Society of Paediatric Radiology (ESPR).
Dr. Wan Irfan has a keen interest in paediatric imaging, particularly in neuroradiology, head and neck imaging, musculoskeletal, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in radiology.
He is an active member of various national and international radiological societies, including the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology (ASPNR), European Society of Paediatric Radiology (ESPR), European Society of Radiology (ESR), Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR), Society of Pediatric Neuroimaging (SPIN), Malaysian Society of Radiologists (MyRAD), and the College of Radiology, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia (CoR).
He is also a recipient of the distinguished SPR Research and Education’s Heidi Patriquin Fellowship Award 2025.
