Expert Profile
Dr. Afifah Mohd. Ali is a lecturer and researcher specializing in ceramic engineering, with expertise in ceramic cutting tool design and development. Her research primarily focuses on the development of self-healing ceramic cutting tools fabricated using powder metallurgy techniques to enhance tool performance and durability in high-speed machining applications. Her work also encompasses machining processes, particularly the optimization and application of advanced ceramic cutting tools for precision manufacturing.
In addition to ceramic engineering, Dr. Afifah's research interests include additive manufacturing (3D printing), biodegradable composite materials, and sustainable manufacturing technologies. She actively collaborates with multidisciplinary research teams on projects involving biodegradable composites, advanced manufacturing processes, and machining technologies.
In teaching, Dr. Afifah delivers courses in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Manufacturing Processes, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and Micromanufacturing Processes. She also has extensive experience teaching postgraduate courses, including Advanced Manufacturing Processes and Micro-Meso Manufacturing Processes, where she integrates current research developments with practical engineering applications.
