Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Azlini Ismail is a highly motivated academician and a passionate researcher in the field of pharmacology. A recipient of the Best Student (Academic) Award during the 25th IIUM Convocation, she graduated with First Class Honors in Biotechnology from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and went on to complete her fast-track Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 2015 at University Sains Malaysia. Since then, she has dedicated her career to advancing knowledge in pharmacology and pharmacognosy, specifically focusing on natural products, antihypertensive research, and phytochemical profiling using GCMS and LCMS. Currently serving as the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate and Responsible Research at the Kulliyyah of Dentistry, IIUM, she plays a key role in fostering a research-driven environment. Dr. Azlini is also the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the IIUM Journal of Orofacial and Health Sciences and an pnael of the IIUM Animal Care and Use Committee, underscoring her commitment to responsible research practices. Her leadership extends beyond academia, as she was recently elected Vice President of the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology (MSPP) for 2024-2026. Over the years, she has spearheaded impactful research projects, including the IIUM Research Initiative Grant Scheme (2015-2019), MOHE's Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (2019-2021), and is currently leading an exciting study on the therapeutic potential of kelulut honey under FRGS 2022. Her work bridges academia and industry, having completed multiple industry-sponsored projects, and she actively supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Masters and Ph.D. programs. Her expertise in pharmacology, natural product research, and her extensive research experience with in vitro and in vivo animal studies and her ability to bridge academia and industry makes her an ideal partner for multidisciplinary projects in pharmacology and natural product research.
