Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Azlini Ismail is a committed academic and researcher in pharmacology. She received the Best Student (Academic) Award during the 25th IIUM Convocation and graduated with First Class Honours in Biotechnology from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She later completed her fast-track Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 2015 at Universiti Sains Malaysia. She previously served as the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate and Responsible Research (2023–2025) at the Kulliyyah of Dentistry, IIUM, where she contributed to enhancing the research environment and strengthening postgraduate training. Dr. Azlini currently serves as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the IIUM Journal of Orofacial and Health Sciences and as a panel member of the IIUM Animal Care and Use Committee, demonstrating her dedication to responsible and ethical research practices. She also serves as the Vice President of the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology (MSPP) for the 2024–2026 term. Her research focuses on natural products, cardiovascular pharmacology, and phytochemical profiling using GCMS and LCMS. Recently, her work has explored the potential of stingless bee honey as a prophylactic and therapeutic agent against COVID-19. Over the years, she has led several research projects, including the IIUM Research Initiative Grant Scheme (2015–2019), the MOHE Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (2019–2021), and an ongoing FRGS 2022 project on the therapeutic potential of kelulut honey. Through her collaboration with industry partners and supervision of postgraduate students, Dr. Azlini continues to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of pharmacology and natural product research.
