Expert Profile
I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Science in Engineering, Kulliyyah of Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). I hold a Ph.D. in Advanced Materials and have been serving at IIUM since 2018. My main teaching responsibility is in Engineering Mathematics, where I support students across various engineering programmes in developing a strong foundation in mathematical thinking and problem-solving.
My research interest lies in the development of activated carbon materials derived from agrowaste, particularly for energy-related applications. I have published works focusing on the conversion of sugarcane bagasse and durian peel into activated carbon, exploring their structural properties and electrochemical performance for potential use in supercapacitors and other energy storage systems.
Through my research and teaching, I aim to integrate sustainable materials development with practical engineering applications. I am also actively involved in contributing to the university’s research repository and continuously seek opportunities for collaboration that align with the university’s mission towards innovation and sustainability.
