Expert Profile
Dr. Dhamirah Nazihah is a Pathologist specialising in Haematology and has been serving as the Head of the Haematology Unit and Quality Manager for the Department of Pathology at Sultan Ahmad Shah Medical Centre @IIUM since 2021. She is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in transfusion medicine and haematology diagnostics, in addition to her academic and managerial roles. Dr. Dhamirah previously served as a Medical Officer from 2015 to 2021 and successfully led her department through the transition to ISO 15189:2022 accreditation. Her main professional interests include laboratory quality assurance, digital morphology, haemostasis, thrombosis, and optimisation of healthcare systems through evidence-based practices. She is currently pursuing a fellowship in Haemostasis and Thrombosis at the Royal London Hospital, UK, under prestigious international fellowship grants awarded by the European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD) and the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). Her ongoing research focuses on AI-supported haematological analysers, advanced coagulation diagnostics, and laboratory innovation.
